San Francisco, California, February 22, 2012 – Furthering its commitment to running high performance session border control (SBC) on commercial off-the-shelf platforms, Metaswitch Networks today announced that its industry-leading Perimeta SBC software is being made available for deployment on generic enterprise servers as well as virtual machine environments to support elastic cloud computing networks.

Introduced in September 2011 and already selected by more than 60 service providers worldwide, Perimeta’s flexible architecture supports independent scaling of an SBC’s signaling and media functions – allowing service providers to cost-effectively address the signaling-heavy, changing mix of network traffic. With Perimeta now available to run on various hypervisors, large operators can take advantage of private elastic cloud environments to scale SBC functions completely independently of dedicated hardware.

“Our established approach to building portable SBC software makes it natural to extend Perimeta into cloud-based architectures,” said Martin Taylor, Metaswitch’s CTO. “By architecting our solution for massively parallel operation on multi-core CPUs, network operators can now, for the first time, leverage COTS server farms to initiate virtual SBC capacity on demand. This is a highly efficient use of shared compute resources and mirrors the software-defined network trend of moving control plane software into elastic compute clouds.”
“Today network operators are investing heavily in data center infrastructure, including server hardware and virtualization software to support growing computing demands,” said Diane Myers, Directing Analyst, VoIP and IMS, Infonetics. “By allowing operators to scale SBC capacity and functions on demand, Metaswitch is helping to limit capital expenditures and infrastructure complexity while optimizing the use of SBC licenses.”

Perimeta SBC is currently running live on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud and Metaswitch will be demonstrating Perimeta at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from February 27 – March 1 on the MWC Avenue (AV80-81). Follow Metaswitch in Barcelona on Twitter at #metamwc.

“Whether you’re a blue chip or a startup, not giving customers a blazing
fast online experience is as good as redirecting them to your
competitors”

Keynote identified and benchmarked hot startups in the following
categories; Collaboration, Digital Entertainment, Mobile & Social
Gaming, Social Networking, Social Retail and Travel. Three key
performance measurements were collected for all companies to determine
the leaders in online performance, measured through Keynote Transaction
PerspectiveTM (for performance on a desktop) and Keynote
Mobile Web Perspective™ (for performance on an iPhone and iPad).

“Website performance is more important than most companies think,” says
Dylan Tweney, executive editor at VentureBeat. “For startups, how fast
your site responds to user requests is the first chance you have to
demonstrate competence, responsiveness and user experience — all key
aspects of your fledgling brand. Everyone knows the frustration of
waiting for a mobile site to render. We look forward to shining a three
screen spotlight on the best and worst performing sites of hot startups.”

“Whether you’re a blue chip or a startup, not giving customers a blazing
fast online experience is as good as redirecting them to your
competitors,” says Anshu Agarwal, vice president of marketing at
Keynote. “Given what we’re seeing in our index, many companies are
walking, not running, to improve their online performance. It’s quite
eye-opening to see how slowly some sites are loading on tablets and
smartphones.”

      Methodology

Keynote’s Startup Shootout Index is the first ‘three screen’ competitive
performance index of its kind. The Index measures the responsiveness and
availability of the hot startup companies’ websites on desktops (using a
real IE browser), smartphones (iPhone 4) and tablets (iPad 2).

measurements are taken from the ten largest U.S. metropolitan areas
(Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, New York,
Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.) on high-speed links
attached to key points on the largest U.S. Internet Service Provider
(ISP) backbones.

Smartphone and tablet measurements are taken from the iPhone 4 and iPad
2 in Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco and New York on both the AT&T and
Verizon mobile networks. Measurements are taken every hour on each
operator in both locations. All locations download the same list of
websites for the index. For every smartphone or tablet on the index
there are 24 measurements a day, times two operators, times two
locations.

For the first week of each month measurements are aggregated across each
location and screen to come up with the average speed and reliability of
the hot startup on the desktop, smartphone and tablet.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) February 21, 2012

iPhone users can now enjoy crystal clear, high-definition audio conferencing and superior call control with Callvine’s new free HD Voice Conferencing app and service that’s easy to use, flexible, and dependable. The Austin-based service provider’s groundbreaking app delivers HD Voice over WiFi together with comprehensive business-class features based on TurboBridge’s proven conferencing platform.

“With the increased use of mobile phones on conference calls, sound quality has truly taken a beating, making many calls unintelligible and inefficient,” says Rudy Prince, Callvine’s CEO/Founder. “Now wherever there is good quality WiFi, iPhone users can conference with natural and vibrant sound, conveying more of the subtleties of the human voice. Within buildings and homes, WiFi connections also avoid the annoyance of dropped calls while eliminating the use of mobile minutes and international dialing charges.”

“Today, high-definition audio conferencing is enjoyed in many conference rooms through VoIP conference phones,” adds Prince. “Utilizing TurboBridge’s HD conferencing technology – already being used by communications industry leaders such as Broadvox® and LogMeIn® – we’re able to bring unparalleled HD audio quality, live conference controls, and free HD recordings to the iPhone. There’s also less wasted time by synchronizing meeting start times with push alerts while the conference host can further manage call quality by instantly muting noisy connections from the app’s dashboard.”

Industry leaders recognize Callvine’s advancement in teleconferencing. Steve Davis, Sr. VP Technology & Operations at HomeAway® adds, “At HomeAway, we’ve always found high-definition audio makes our meetings much more productive and efficient and we became an early customer of TurboBridge. With Callvine bringing this technology and HD Voice to the iPhone, the superior sound quality is no longer limited to conference rooms but can be used from anywhere.”

Ken Ford, former CEO of Global Conference PartnersTM, parent of FreeConference.com, states, “By bringing mobility and HD Voice to iPhones, Callvine represents the next generation of free conferencing. While there are many iPhone business apps available, Callvine fills a unique void in the conferencing market through its ease-of-use, the combination of clear HD Voice with traditional telephone dial-ins, and live call controls.”

To support its HD Voice services, Callvine implemented the industry-standard G722.1 wideband codec licensed from Polycom®, which doubles the frequency range the ear receives. As Polycom describes HD Voice, it is similar to “switching from AM radio to CD-quality audio.” The codec is also highly efficient, using approximately the same amount of data as a Skype or Viber call. Callvine’s service also supports HD Voice from conference phones – tying together high-definition audio from iPhones to conference rooms – by connecting VoIP phones to @sip.callvine.com.

The Callvine app and service is free for up to 10 participants on a conference call and up to four hours of conferencing each month. Group texting and creating and managing groups is always free and simplified through the use of the iPhone’s Messages app – keeping all texts and replies in one location. In-App upgrades will be offered later this quarter (Q1 2012) for increased numbers of conference participants and additional usage.

Callvine was formed in 2011, focusing on mobile unified communications beginning with advanced conferencing services. CEO Prince is a veteran entrepreneur and technology executive who founded eFax.com and served as its CEO for 12 years, growing the company to become the undisputed leader in Internet faxing. He has also led companies in voice processing technologies, Linux-based mobile software, WiFi services, and retail shopping assistants.

Callvine’s Advisory Board includes Steve Davis, Sr. VP Technology & Operations at HomeAway, Ken Ford, former CEO of Global Conference Partners (the company behind freeconference.com), and Alec Robinson, CEO/Co-founder of MobiTech 3000, creator of the leading iPhone scanner app, JotNot.

Callvine’s conferencing partner, TurboBridge, is an enhanced information provider owned and operated by Advanced Communications Solutions, which was founded in 2007. TurboBridge previously announced licensing its conferencing platform to Broadvox, a worldwide leader in providing integrated managed VoIP services and hosted Unified Communications to SMB, Enterprise, and carrier customers. Additionally, LogMeIn uses TurboBridge for the audio conferencing portion of their join.me service offering.

Callvine, iPhone, TurboBridge, HomeAway, Polycom, JotNot, Broadvox, LogMeIn, join.me, Skype and Viber are trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners in the United States and other countries.

Monon, IN (PRWEB) February 19, 2012

Morse Communications helped design and deploy NWSC’s technology overhaul with fiber optic and copper wiring cabling infrastructure, VOIP telephony system, data network switch environment and wireless technology throughout the school campus in support of their evolving technology strategies. Morse Communications replaced the IP switching network with the Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch 6850 10 GigE fiber concentrator and the OmniSwitch 6400 delivering 1GigE with Power over Ethernet to the desktop. Morse Communications installed Alcatel-Lucent’s state of the art IP hybrid telephone solution, the OmniPCX Enterprise – putting a phone in each classroom for safety, and setup a robust wireless LAN solution to meet the demands of NWSC “one-to-one computing” initiative.

“Morse was pleased to be able to gain the trust of North White School Corporation with the replacement and deployment of a mission critical education network,” says Bryan May, Director of sales for Morse Communications, Inc. “We are continuing our partnership with North White School Corporation by supporting their K-12 Technology Initiatives and looking to further secure the NWSC network with the Fortigate security appliance and SafeNAC, network access control solution. Morse is looking forward to a long partnership with the North White School Corporation.”

Morse Communications has experience with education customers, supporting many small and large school districts around the country. Morse continues to develop custom education solutions such as Safe Campus solutions, parent notification solution and school lockdown solutions.

“The Morse implementation team was fantastic and the support from Morse and Alcatel-Lucent has been excellent. NWSC could not have prepared to meet the future of IT without Morse,” says Steve Land, LAN Administrator and Director of Technology for NWSC. “The Alcatel-Lucent solutions are rock solid and we are able to achieve networking speeds and response times which make us (students, teachers, staff and Administrators) more productive.”

About North White School Corporation

The success of North White School Corporation is directly connected to our deep appreciation for diversity, the engagement of our parents and community, and the dedication, commitment, and talent of all employees. Our students have unlimited potential and we respect their unique learning styles and interests. Each school provides a challenging curriculum, skilled instruction, and a learning environment that reflects student interest as well as academic needs. Our future rests in the hands of our children; their education is our greatest responsibility.

(ETC)(Pink Sheets:ETCIA) today
reported its fourth quarter 2011 results. Sales for the quarter were
$ 486,844 compared to $ 364,918 for the 2010 fourth quarter. The net
earnings for the quarter were $ 65,698 or $ 0.03 per Class A common share,
compared to net earnings of $ 4,570 or $ 0.00 per Class A common share for
the fourth quarter of 2010.

Sales for the 2011 year were $ 1,657,407 compared to 2010 sales of
$  1,658,605. The net earnings for 2011 were $  90,002 or $  0.04 per Class A
share for 2010.

Commenting on the results, ETC President Dean Danner said, “ETC’s
earnings improved throughout 2011 ending the year with a profit for both
the second half of 2011 and the full year. We have seen some improvement
in our market segments, although the market remains erratic and
therefore unpredictable. Sales of our Emcee systems have remained steady
into the first quarter of 2012 and previously implemented controls on
operating expenses are being maintained. Both cash flow and earnings are
currently ahead of where we were at this time in 2011.”
